The Goal: to take and post at least one picture each day for the entire year that I'm 27.

I find that I rush through the day, to rush through the week, to get to the weekend...just to find that an entire year goes by in the blink of an eye. So, on the eve of my last day as a 26 year old I decided to make a change. I challenged myself to take the time each day and find at least one moment worth remembering, hoping that in this way I will learn to live each day for what it is. For regardless of how uniform the days may feel at a glace each one is truly unique and worth cherishing.

Day 312 - "I shall call him mini-me"

Steve always tells me to drink more water
He says I should have at least 2 water bottles while at work...
Well ta-da, I bet I can drink 2 of these while at work!
Got'cha Steve

Day 311 - Memorial Day

If Saturday was all about the "blue"...then today was about the red and white

We celebrated Memorial day with a very large strawberry short cake
And a very unexpected Star Wars marathon - not exactly the war movie I had in mind
But somehow it fit this very relaxing long weekend

Day 310 - Duck, duck, goose!

We had dinner at my parent house tonight
The weather, food, house, and company was perfect!!!
Kipp and Nickee were there along with Nickee's brother in law and nephew
Needless to say, 3 year old Trevor stole the show...well him and the baby duckies that joined us

Day 309 - Red, yellow, orange and BLUE - I love you!

The first part of today was all about painting the house blue!
(The second part of today - dinner and a movie - well that starts now!)
But back to painting... we didn't literally paint the house blue, but I did start painting the dining chairs blue
And I added a blue accent stripe to our family room wall where the ceramic deer head hangs

Day 308 - Picture (not so) perfect

We tried to make a picture puzzle for Steve's grandparent's coming anniversary...
They always ask that people not get them gifts...and they love puzzles so it seemed like the perfect fit

When we saw you could make one on Walgreen's website we were pumped!
That's where we have all of our picture prints made and they always turn out amazing
However this puzzle experience was anything but amazing
It was pretty annoying to make on their website (we had to redo it a million times due to site errors)
And when it arrived today not only was the picture on the cover of the tin all unfocused and grainy...
But so was the image on the actual puzzle - what a let down!
I guess it's back to the ol' drawing board

On a high note: My sister made me this amazing picture to use for my face book profile pic
I haven't changed my picture since Steve and I got married (over two years ago)
But I think this picture is worth changing for

Day 307 - I love you to the moon!

I love you to the moon...I love to the moon and back...That's what I always tell Steve

All week he's been watching some pretty fascinating space and science shows on Discovery
They have really beautiful graphics and that got me thinking about The Little Price

So I got out my collection and started reading reminiscing tonight...

My oldest book is a hard backed copy from the 50's, then I have a french copy from 2000,
A brand new colored paper back copy, a black and white paper back, and more recently
A super deluxe pop-up book from Anthropology - a gift from my mom on my last birthday

If you don't know the story...or haven't read it in a while...you should read it!
I am going to start it right now

Day 306 - A sunny distraction

The dogs and I just got back from our evening walk
Wes has decided that he's dead...I think he'll make it (and probably be asking to play fetch in an hour)
Ash was a champ and very well behaved the entire walk (2 miles)

I just needed to do something physical and outside today
First, it's rare that there is still an hour or more of day light when I get home from work...
Plus, I have been incredibly snacky...my restless leg syndrome has been giving me calf craps at night...
And I saw some pretty cute pics of my sister on FB and I am super envious of her hot summer body!!!
Let's just hope I (and Wes and Ash) can keep this up and actually get in summer shape

Day 305 - Holding out

I've been holding out on you...
When we were last in California (end of April) Steve had a plan
He took me to the Coach outlet in Palm Springs and let me loose

Steve's big thing has always been getting me a new purses for my birthday
And being as he was raised by some very fashionable women (mother, sister, aunt, and grandma)
The only purse store he goes into is Coach...but let's be honest this isn't a "coach" economy
So my last "new birthday purse" was a couple of birthdays ago...that is until this year
As luck would have it the day we stopped at the outlet they just happened to be having a 30% off sale
I found the perfect (so many pockets you can't believe it) white purse...aka my dream purse
Steve got it for me along with a bottle of leather cleaner (lesson learned on my last white coach purse)

I haven't said anything about it because I am actually trying to wait to use it until my birthday (60 days!)
But I am feeling more and more like this weekend might be the weekend to debut it
Isn't Memorial Day weekend the true start of Summer and wearing white
Ahhh, what to do?

Day 304 - A clean slate

I left blogging to the very end of the night again - yikes!
I even showered before blogging hoping I would think of a great idea while in there
I didn't honestly expect that plan to work...and I swear I'm not just forcing a blog

But here's the deal...So my face has been breaking out a lot lately
(Like really, why now at age 27...where was all this while I was 16 and all of my peers where breaking out)
Okay anyway, so that's happening and I keep trying to find a solution in face washes...
I need a make-up remover and an acne fighter that isn't for a kid,
But also doesn't feel/smell like the doctor's office
And tonight I think I honestly found something good

So this is the new stuff Neutrogena Naturals
It's my first time using it so no miracles yet...except for the fact that the smell alone made me feel amazing!
Sure I had a minor meltdown when I broke the top off trying to undo the locking mechanism...
But I washed my face again and smelled that heavenly fresh smell and felt all better
Best part other than the smell - my skin that is currently clear fells like rose petals - literally!

So yeah: great aroma therapy, super soft skin, obnoxious top locking thing, but overall a really nice wash
Plus I feel destressed and now my blog is done - Yay!!!

Day 303 - Back to work

The weekend is over...
And it went way too fast (especially since I didn't do anything today)

So now it's back to work
At least I get to spend some more time figuring out Autodesk Impressions
Here's what I've been working on...

Day 302 - In the summer time when the weather is fine...

I'm calling it...it's offically summer time

We ate pork tenderloin sandwiches and root beer floats at picnic benches outside
Thank you Joe's Farm Grill for the perfect "summer" Saturday

Day 301 - HD wrap-up

It was quite a week..and all I have to say is TGIF!!!

But before I move on to the weekend I am going to review the trip I took this last Wednesday and Thursday

First I have to show two things I don't use in my line of work but I would love to have at home

Baroque in door/out door hard formed furniture - love it!

Also painted branch art work, I plan to copy this in my house

Okay now for the design stuff...First up - all things lighting:

That's my boss showing off the scale of this huge column light

Then there were giant hanging light fixtures made of thin wood veneer

3-form eco-resin light fixtures

A super crazy restaurant entrance all lit up with a 3-form reception desk at Aria inside the new City Center

Also at the City Center - angled walls with back lighting

Next up - Feature wall treatments:

Daisy Cake chain metal screen wall with painted logo (also Lily Jack makes my favorite furniture)

Hanging glass orb curtain walls

String walls in a City Center restaurant

Carved gyp board wall panels - best seamless design

Next up - Tile:

Andy Warhol ceramic tiles with wood grain pattern and splashed with bold colors

Metals and stone basket weaves

Stone mosaic tiles and glitter grout

Stacked stone walls with mod wood latus work

And lastly - All things translucent:

Glass railing and soffit at interior skylight

3-form Geco wall

The Ocean Club at City Center - 2 story wood dining structure (in the abstract shape of a fish)

City Center lobby at Aria - Glass, glass and more glass

Glass water feature wall at a 2nd story lobby and lower level theater entrance

And lastly, a stacked resin wall at City Center

So that's the best of what I saw and the latest of what's hot in design!
