The Goal: to take and post at least one picture each day for the entire year that I'm 27.

I find that I rush through the day, to rush through the week, to get to the weekend...just to find that an entire year goes by in the blink of an eye. So, on the eve of my last day as a 26 year old I decided to make a change. I challenged myself to take the time each day and find at least one moment worth remembering, hoping that in this way I will learn to live each day for what it is. For regardless of how uniform the days may feel at a glace each one is truly unique and worth cherishing.

Day 7 - Sweet Deals

Who says large quantities of good tasting food has to cost a lot. Thanks to Ikea we had more than we could possibly eat and at $1.99 a plate there was plenty of money left in our wallets to shop til we dropped!!!

And speaking of shopping...thanks to a birthday gift card from my sister-in-law I finally completed my favorite book series...

I have been slowly buying the hard cover copies of the Harry Potter series for some time now and today I finally found the elusive book 4. Not only are they amazing stories but they also make for some great shelf decor! I actually haven't read all of the books...but I have heard all of the them.
(Audio books are the only way I can handle my commute!)

Day 6 - All dressed up with nowhere to go

Today I received the last of my birthday gifts...pretty little dresses from Anthropologie...now if only I had somewhere to wear them!

Day 5 - Dashboard Confessional

The weekly grind can get pretty wearing...especially when you factor in the 5am walk with the dogs, getting to work early, working through lunch, staying late, and client visits on top of an hour commute (each way). Today I hit a full 12 hours of away time...leaving at 6:45 am and returning home at 6:45 pm. It's not nearly the longest day I have had but it was exhausting!

Leaving home...

...getting to work...

...running some drawings to a client during lunch...

...driving back to the office...

...leaving the office..

...on the 51...

...the 202...

...the 101...

...the 60...

...through the flooded neighborhood...

...and arriving back home!

And in case you were counting: yes, I do take 4 freeways on my commute (for a total of 33 miles)

* Just a special note: all photos on this post were taken while stopped at a traffic light or with a camera fixed to the dashboard on a timer...so yes mom, I am being safe.

* And if I had waited until this evening for post inspiration (like I normally do) instead of planing out all of these tricky, timed car photos you would be reading about the scorpion attack that just happened...so your welcome mom!

Day 4 - Brown paper packages tied up with strings...

What's one of my favorite things you ask? Coming home to a brown paper package (especially after I forget that it's coming). Tonight's pleasant surprise is brought to you by a very talented artist by the name of  Mae Chevrette. I'm still not exactly sure which room my new art will live in but my beach themed decor collection is growing rather nicely!

Day 3 - Summer Storm

April showers brings May flowers, but do you know what excess heat in late July brings? Summer monsoons! The sky will be bright blue, the sun blistering hot, and the air dry and dusty...then all at once the monsoon rolls in with all its furry...for about 10 minutes and then we go back to normal until tomorrow evening.

Day 2 - When Yellow Is Not So Mellow...

"Happy Go Lucky", I'd say so!
Thanks to my sister Mykaela and her gift of China Glaze polish in color Happy Go Lucky I had 10 bright spots in my day.

Day 1 - The begining

The sun sets on my last day of being 26

July 25, 2010...And so begins my 27th year

Seven slices of cake have all  been eaten, stacks of presents have all been opened, the parting hugs have all been given, and now I say good night as the candles burn out the last moments of this special day..the first day of my 27th year.
