The Goal: to take and post at least one picture each day for the entire year that I'm 27.

I find that I rush through the day, to rush through the week, to get to the weekend...just to find that an entire year goes by in the blink of an eye. So, on the eve of my last day as a 26 year old I decided to make a change. I challenged myself to take the time each day and find at least one moment worth remembering, hoping that in this way I will learn to live each day for what it is. For regardless of how uniform the days may feel at a glace each one is truly unique and worth cherishing.

Day 99 - "99 pictures but a (Halloween) witch aint one"

This year we just staid in and had a scary movie marathon and caught up on laundry and kitchen cleaning
Not the most exciting Halloween ever but Friday and Saturday took so much out of me
I really needed a day or rest and catching up before another week starts

So to catch you up, here are some photos from Palo Alto on Friday night...

The new fitness building

The remodeled club house

 Inside the fitness center

The family changing rooms and restroom

The fitness restrooms and locker rooms

The spa and treatment area

The 2nd floor work out room

Fitness center lobby seating

The pool, spa and courtyard

And just for you Myk...a few shots of me and my hot dress once I got back to the hotel

Day 96 - Polished

A couple years ago I let a cute woman at a mall cart talk me into buying this nail buffing block
I try not to make eye contact when I pass the people selling stuff at mall carts...
It's not that I want to be unfriendly but I know I won't buy the item...
So why put them through the sells pitch just to shoot them down right?

Well like I said, a couple of years I made eye contact and got suckered...
At least that's what it felt like at first...but the truth is I love this nail buffer!!!
First the lady buffed my nails with the blue coarse side...then the gray soft side...
And then the smooth white side...and ta da! Beautiful glossy, shinny nails

They seriously feel amazing and unlike nail polish it doesn't chip, peel, scratch, or fade
And I plan on polishing up my little nails tonight just in time for my business trip tomorrow
So even after a full day of work I know they will look perfect for the grand opening of my favorite project!

Halloween is just around the corner...and we're getting ready for all the fun
Now if only we didn't have work Thursday and Friday we could start our movie marathon now...

Day 94 - Feeling a little Psycho

I am helping a client warm up some very sterile stair wells
All day I looked down very steep stairs and thought about that amazing scene in Hitchcock's Psycho
The one with the shot that makes the viewer feel like they are falling down the stairs...
So good...anyway think of this spooky shot as an early Happy Halloween treat!!!

Day 93 - 27 and 3 months

(Me and my Steve relaxing after dinner)

Today I am 27 and 3 months...and completing my 93rd consecutive blog post!!!

I cut my hair last June and lost about 3-4 inches more than I had wanted
I haven't cut it since then (not even trims which I almost regret) and today I am just about back to square one
I can put my hair in a ponytail without most of it falling out or needing bobby pins to hold it all in place
My bangs no longer exist and the rounded front layers now blending into the rest of my hair

I have never appreciated the passing of 3 months quite as mush as these past 3!!!

Day 92 - House Warming

I got out my fall decor today
The pumpkins, blankets, pillows, leaves, wreaths, and candles
As much as I have begun to love the cool gray and blue color pallet we have going in our dining room...
I have to admit that adding in the warm colors of fall sure do make this place feel homey

Day 91 - All things Halloween

Today the Cowley side of the family came over for pumpkin carving
It was a little too warm to do it outside so we set up a table in the family room and went to town...

My pumpkin is the mini white one (seen above right) and instead of carving it the traditional way
I used Steve's Dremel to etch shallow flower patterns into it
The effect was pretty cool...but pretty messy...

My poor Wes was laying under me and when I looked down at him this is what I saw...

Oh and I forgot to get a picture of my pumpkin -
And it is already shriveled and ugly after sitting in the sun this afternoon

But no worries...after our little pumpkin party Steve and I seeded for winter grass
And Steve snapped this picture of me after doing a little work on the sprinkler system

Good News: We will have some awesome winter grass in a couple of weeks

Bad News: There is still more work to be done on the sprinklers...and our grass is full of mini spiders
