Day 300 - 3 is a magic number

This is the 3rd time I've written this post tonight...

The first time was at the Vegas airport typing away on my ipod touch

We got to the airport 2 hours early...my boss loves being early

Then the free wifi freaked out and disconnected before I could publish my post

So I typed it all up again...because I had some extra time when my flight became delayed

But then another plane showed up and all of a sudden there was no delay

So we all got rushed onto the plane and I was told to turn off my ipod before I could publish my post

So my post got erased again...

I guess it's true that "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"

And that brings us up to now...My third post of the night

I put up 3 pictures of my time in Vegas: seeing displays, materials, and cool new resorts

But I will have to tell you more about that later...

For now I am going to bed because 5 am is going to come pretty fast!

Day 299 - Home Alone

As Summer said last night she's out of town today and tomorrow
So that means I'm home alone (with the dogs of course) until tomorrow night

She called earlier complaining she couldn't connect to the hotels internet though 

So I thought I'd get on here and get it done for her

Day 298 - Work Release

Tomorrow at 7am I fly to Vegas for the HD (Hospitality Design) convention for 2 days

And this little work away from work came just in time...

This is what has been happening at work this week

Yup, apparently there is a leak in the foundation...under my desk...where I keep my files for long term clients

I know, not a good place to keep important stuff

But I'm out of counter/drawer space and I have the only desk without overhead storage

Anyway, I am going to let the people at work figure all of that out while I see cool stuff in Vegas

Day 297 - I hope this sucks

We bought this little guy this weekend...but didn't get to try it until now because it needed to charge up

I tired it tonight and it seems pretty good...pretty loud, but also pretty good

The thing is, our dogs are wonderful and we are so glad they are a part of our lives...

But their shedding...the non stop shedding...it's killer

For the floors we stumbled on to using a shop vac, and have never looked back

But the furniture is a little trickier because the dog's hair weaves its way into the fabric

And once it does that, its nearly impossible to get it out unless you hand picking it one hair at a time

The hope is that this little hand vac will be good enough, quick enough, and easy enough to use 

That I (can) will vacuum our grey sofas every week and keep them from getting "old"

That's the hope at least...we'll see if it works

Day 296 - It's going to be another Late Night

I am on the eve of another week of 11 hour work days...plus a two day work trip

To help get me through the next 5 late nights I got this

And it is amazing!!!

As a person who has more of a salty tooth than a sweet tooth...this ice cream really hits the spot

So salty, so chewy, so bad for you - it's everything late night's are supposed to be about

I guess my goal to loose some weight will have to wait another week

Day 295 - Crystal Clear

I am one step closer to getting the antique chandleier Adrienne gave to me hung up

Today I spend my afternoon cleaning every nook and cranny, getting all of the crystal to shine again 

I loved this thing when I first got it...but I really love with it now that I can atually see it

There were also some hanging crystals that had fallen off, or had broken or missing wire hangers

So Steve and I went to Ace and found some new brass wire that was the same gauge as the existing wire

It's a lot brighter than I wanted, but I think with a little time it will patina and match all of the other brass

The hardest part was working the wire hanger to loop and match the original...but I think I got it right

Coming up tomorrow...Hanging of the chandelier!!!

  

Day 294 - Plan B

This was Plan B...on so many levels

All week I had the itch to bake...and I knew exactly what I wanted to make

I wanted strawberry mini cupcakes with lemon frosting...a dessert take on strawberry lemonade

So Thursday night before our shows started Corey and I ran out to the store to get the good

But apparently I was mistaken and there is no such thing as ready-made lemon frosting

So I thought...well maybe we'll make lemon cake with strawberry frosting...

Yeah there was no ready-made lemon cake either

I know the obvious solution is to make something from scratch...

But that's not the type of "baking'' I was in the mood for

So I just gave up and went with plan B

Strawberry cake half with chocolate frosting, half with cream cheese frosting

And although it wasn't what I was craving...they are still pretty good

Oh and this is also "Plan B" because this was supposed to be my Thursday post...
