The Goal: to take and post at least one picture each day for the entire year that I'm 27.

I find that I rush through the day, to rush through the week, to get to the weekend...just to find that an entire year goes by in the blink of an eye. So, on the eve of my last day as a 26 year old I decided to make a change. I challenged myself to take the time each day and find at least one moment worth remembering, hoping that in this way I will learn to live each day for what it is. For regardless of how uniform the days may feel at a glace each one is truly unique and worth cherishing.

Day 227 - Making a list and checking it twice...

As mentioned a million times...I am gearing up to host a bridal shower in the beginning of April
When Steve and I got married (over two years ago - crazy) we registered for almost all kitchen items
(It's not very fun registering for linens when you know your acne medicine will only ruin it on the first use)

Anyway...so I know we have all we need to host a party...but with a smaller kitchen
You have to get creative when housing all of your service ware...and we did get creative!
So finding all of my favorite pieces is kind of like a treasure hunt...all around the whole house

First up, the entry...
2-tier appetizer tray as a key and glasses catch all

Next, the living room...
Silver serving tray as a table top...or large coaster

Next, the family room...
3-tier dessert tray as end table decoration

Also in the family room (with the dogs)...
Large silver lacquer tray as a tv/video game control station

Next, the kitchen...
Small cake stand as an "important" mail collection spot

Then we head up stairs to the bathroom...
Collection of 3 small dessert stands as decor

Then the master bed room...
Another 3-tier stand, this time as a jewelry display

And finally, the master bath...
Votive candle holders and pillar candle stand as bathroom storage (Q-tips, cotton balls, and manicure set)

So there it is...everything that should be, could be, in the kitchen that ended up else where
And the truth is, there is so much more of that actually in the kitchen that I might not even need to use
Any of these items...but if I do need them, at least I located them again!

  1. Once again, your pictures are amazing! Everything looks really good!!!! So, If you need anything, just borrow mine, and don't undo what you have done. (One of the most non-sensical statements I have made in a while, I think)

  2. Great ideas! I have SO many cake stands and jars after the wedding and so few ideas for what to do with them...until now that is.
