The Goal: to take and post at least one picture each day for the entire year that I'm 27.

I find that I rush through the day, to rush through the week, to get to the weekend...just to find that an entire year goes by in the blink of an eye. So, on the eve of my last day as a 26 year old I decided to make a change. I challenged myself to take the time each day and find at least one moment worth remembering, hoping that in this way I will learn to live each day for what it is. For regardless of how uniform the days may feel at a glace each one is truly unique and worth cherishing.

Day 147 - Night Owl

I used to be quite the night owl...I would stay up until 12am or later all through childhood and high school
(We think I was insomniac as a young kid) In college it was more of the same...and then came "real life"
I got a full time job with a super long commute, got married (to a man who wakes up at 5 am every morning)
Got two puppies that love getting up and playing at the crack of dawn...and so I slowly started to change

During the week Steve and I shut the house down and get ready for bed at 9:30 and wake up at 5am
On the weekend if we stay home we will still be in bed by 10:30 - 11:00 and get up at 8am
(Well Steve and the dogs still get up around 5am...but I get to sleep in until 8 am)

Yesterday way was like any other day...I got up at 8am, had a super full day, then ended the night at home
What wasn't normal was me falling fast asleep on the couch at 9pm...
Steve woke me up to see if I wanted to go to bed, I said no, and continued to sleep down stairs
While Steve and Corey watch tv...then Corey went home at 10pm (he had to get up at 5am today)
And Steve tried to get me up again...I stumbled up stairs and into bed and was out immediately

When the dogs got up this morning at 6am I gave them to Steve and went back to bed until now...
Wes came up stairs and woke me up again so I brought him back down to Steve and got the news...
I didn't blog last night! I was so  out of it, so tired I totally forgot to blog!
176 consecutive days...and then I forgot...or if not forgot, passed out so completely bloging didn't matter
So I hope this early morning post came make up for the missed one...
But I will forever be a little sad that I didn't go 365 consecutive days with out a miss

  1. I think that it is only a miss if you go more than 36 hours without a blog! In my "motherly opinion" if it comes around to the next time you are supposed to blog and you didn't complete the one in between, it is a miss. Missing by a few hours, I don't think makes you a "blog misser!" Cut yourself a little "Christmas" slack! You have done an amazing job!
